Design and deliver a new classroom solution that would enable Italy’s schools to reopen safely in the wake of the global pandemic, and facilitate adaptable learning spaces of the future.
Our solution replaced the traditional two-person desks found in Italy’s classrooms, bringing flexibility and colourful design to schools throughout the country. From the initial request for proposal marked ‘extremely urgent’ to a rapid prototype and production, there was nothing typical about the programme that enabled Italy to start the new school year with safer classrooms.
By designing a system of products that were flexible, schools could tailor to their needs and make the most of available spaces. These adaptable spaces solved an immediate need by facilitating social distancing among students, but created new collaborative environments within schools.
Our innovative solution provided the utmost in flexibility and reconfigurability of the space. Quick and smooth transitions from front-facing sessions to group or teamwork activities, has helped teachers create more connections with students, compared to traditional passive learning methods.
A rapid supply chain reaction ensured an efficient delivery to schools throughout Italy in time for the new school year.
